Kay is a health communication researcher and data scientist. Her research innovates communication models to help individuals with difficulty in social information processing, such as those with personality disorder traits associated with early-life psychological trauma, to effectively process health information for their adaptive attitudinal and behavioral changes. Kay’s research also tackles marginalized individuals’ interactions with emerging technologies, such as virtual reality and social media platforms, for their health and wellness. Kay’s data specializations include computational approaches for data visualization, structural equation modeling, and machine learning.
